This page explains how to delete your The One App account and what happens to your information when you do. You can use it whether or not you have the app installed, and on any device.
Who this page is for
The One App is used by two kinds of people, and deletion works a little differently for each.
- Squad Members — the team at a Retreat Center. Your account was created by your Retreat Center so you could do your job in the app.
- Guests and Guardians — the people attending a camp or retreat, and the parents, guardians, agencies or sponsors who register and pay for them. Your information was given to a Retreat Center when you registered.
How to request deletion
Email support@theoneapp.camp from the email address on your account, with the subject Delete my account. Tell us your name and the Retreat Center you are connected to.
You do not need the app to do this, and there is no charge. We will confirm we have your request within two business days and complete it within 30 days.
If you still have the app, you can also reach us from the avatar menu at the top of the screen, under Support.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your sign-in and your account itself, so it can no longer be used.
- Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo.
- Your personal settings — your notification choices, your Gizmo layout, your saved views.
- Any devices you had registered for notifications.
- For a Guest or Guardian: your contact details, your registration answers, and any health or medical information held about you.
What we keep, and why
We will tell you plainly rather than promise more than we can do. Some information cannot simply be removed:
- Financial records. Payments, refunds and invoices are kept for as long as US tax and accounting law requires, normally seven years. These are records of a transaction that happened, and a Retreat Center and its auditors need them.
- Work a Retreat Center owns. A booking, a room assignment, a completed task or a note about a group belongs to the Retreat Center, not to the individual who typed it. Where that work would otherwise be lost, your name is removed from it and it remains as an anonymous record.
- Messages other people received. We cannot remove a message from the person you sent it to, in the same way an email cannot be unsent.
- Security and audit logs, for a limited period, because they are how we investigate fraud and protect everyone else's information.
None of what we keep is used to contact you, and none of it is sold or shared for advertising. We have never sold personal information and do not intend to.
If your Retreat Center holds your records
For a Guest or a Guardian, the Retreat Center you registered with is the organization responsible for your information, and we hold it on their behalf. We will act on your request and we will also tell them you made it. If you would rather ask them directly, you can — either route works.
Deleting a whole Retreat Center
If you are an owner or administrator and you want your Retreat Center's entire account closed, email support@theoneapp.camp from your administrator address and say so. We will confirm with you by phone before anything is deleted, because this removes every Guest, booking and record your organization holds and it cannot be undone. You can ask for a full export of your data first, and we would encourage it.
